The United States and Indonesia will further strengthen nickel trade.

Bloomberg News, November 9 - President Biden of the United States and President Joko of Indonesia are set to engage in bilateral talks on November 13, focusing on negotiations regarding a nickel trade agreement between the two countries. In April of this year, Indonesian officials outlined plans for a limited free trade agreement with the United States. The agreement stipulates that electric vehicles produced using Indonesian nickel would qualify for U.S. clean car credit requirements outlined in the Inflation Reduction Act. U.S. officials have not yet explicitly confirmed the trade agreement with Indonesia.
